Software Quality Engineer

Qwaq Headquarters in Palo Alto, CA

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain software test plans.
  • Interface with developers and product managers to define practical and testable software requirements.
  • Manage the software release cycle.
  • Review product specifications and requirementsPerform unit and systems tests on new releases.
  • Perform regression tests on new releases.
  • Manage and oversee user acceptance tests.Interface with customers and users to gather system behavior info for the developers.

Experience and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience testing client-server and web based applications.
  • Extensive experience in software quality assurance, including requirements/specifications analysis, test plan/test case creation, test case execution, results analysis and defect tracking.
  • In-depth understanding of all stages of software development lifecycle and formal testing methodologies.
  • 2+ years experience with test script automation tools such as Mercury or Segue, including load and performance test tools.
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate with developers to resolve issues for releases, provide project status update and transparency for manager.
  • B.S. Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering Knowledge of object-oriented technologies and component-based development a plus.
  • Some basic Squeak knowledge a plus but not required.
  • Experience in 3D graphics environments a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
